Siding that stands up to hail and sun

The same storms that wreck roofs chew up vinyl and old hardboard siding. We replace it with fiber cement or engineered wood that takes a hailstone, won't melt or warp, and gives the house a fresh face that lasts decades.

When siding needs replacing

Vinyl siding cracks in cold-snap hail and fades under our UV. Hardboard siding from the '80s and '90s swells and rots at the bottom edges. Cedar needs refinishing every few years and is a fire concern in the foothills. If your siding is chalking, cracking, warping or showing dark stains along the bottom of each course, it’s letting water into the wall.

How we do it

Siding is only as good as what’s behind it. We strip the old material, inspect the sheathing and replace anything soft, then install a continuous house wrap with taped seams and properly integrated flashing at every window, door and roof-to-wall intersection. Where it makes sense we add a rainscreen gap so the wall can dry.

The siding itself goes on with the manufacturer’s specified fasteners and clearances, with pre-painted factory finishes that carry 15-year paint warranties. Soffit, fascia and trim are replaced to match, so the finished house looks like it was built that way.

Roof and siding together

Because we do both, a storm claim that covers roof and siding can be handled by one company, one crew schedule and one point of contact. You get a single claims specialist and a single warranty for the whole exterior.

Siding & Exteriors questions we hear a lot

Fiber cement or engineered wood?

Both are excellent in Colorado. Fiber cement is non-combustible, which matters in foothill fire zones, and holds paint exceptionally well. Engineered wood is lighter, easier to work around complex trim, and costs a bit less. We’ll show you samples of both and tell you which we’d pick for your house.

Can hail damage to siding be claimed on insurance?

Yes. Dented vinyl, cracked hardboard and chipped paint on the hail-facing sides of the house are commonly covered in the same claim as the roof. We document siding damage during every storm inspection.

How long does a siding job take?

A typical two-story home takes one to two weeks depending on the amount of trim and the condition of the sheathing underneath. We give you a schedule up front and keep the site clean every evening.
