Where we came from
Dan Reyes started on roofing crews as a teenager in Lakewood and spent eight years learning the trade before starting Summit in 2008, right as the housing market was collapsing. The timing turned out to be a gift. With nobody building new houses, the company grew entirely on repairs and replacements for existing homeowners, and it learned to earn every job through referrals.
The first big hail year, 2009, taught us the insurance side of the business. We watched out-of-state storm chasers blow through the metro, sign up hundreds of homeowners, do rushed work and disappear. We decided to be the opposite: a local company that would still be answering the phone when the warranty mattered.
Where we are now
Today Summit runs several residential crews, a dedicated metal crew and a commercial division out of our office on West Alameda. We’ve installed more than 6,000 roofs across Jefferson, Denver, Arapahoe, Adams and Douglas counties, and a meaningful share of our work every year comes from past customers and the neighbors who watched us work.
What hasn’t changed
Our foremen have been with us an average of eleven years. Dan still walks roofs. Maria still runs the office. Every roof still gets a lifetime workmanship warranty, and we still turn down jobs when we think the customer is being pushed into something they don’t need.
